Octoberber's Journal
December's Journal
xx/11/2025
I still haven't quite decided what to do about this journal from next year.
The fact that we're moving offices and I won't have an actual desk with an
always on computer on it any more (although that only hosts the web cam, which
doesn't update all that much as I forget to restart the thing after it gets
rebooted), and how lax I am with updates does weigh on my mind. The web server
that hosts the site might also be going away too, which would probably put paid
to me bothering to bring it back somewhere else. Still to be determined...
November was a busy month here and there. Rel came back from east Africa
towards then end of the first full week, so I headed to her place so we could
be together as soon as she returned. Obviously we then ran a local half
marathon on the weekend (nothing speedy) rather than, you know, relax and
recuperate. We also took the Monday afterwards off to actually do so.
My mother managed to trip slightly and break her fall with the less than a
year old television (better than the alternative), so I ordered them a
replacement at the same time as they decided to bin their BT broadband and
television package (which they were being fleeced for) and move to Virgin Media
for both. So, a week or two later I headed to them and set everything up at
the same time. Although the Virgin Media connection turned out to be unplugged
at the street box end, so that didn't get activated for a few more days.
Thankfully my mum turns out to be quite technically astute, so she was able to
deal with the last bits of the setup/configuration.
At the very end of the month I was graced with a short but concentrated visit
from one of my best men and long-time friend. We ended up in a local pub
setting the world to rights both socially and work-wise (he's the team leader
of one of our account managers for a product we use intensively in my job) and
I don't think I've had a better day of socialising in quite some time. I do
hope we get to do it again before too long has passed again.
And that closes out November, I think. Lots going on in December.
